These User Terms are a contract between you (and the organisation you represent) and XG Energy (“XG”, “we”). They cover XG Atlas and related XG services. Your privacy is covered separately in our Privacy & Data Policy.
§1The agreement
By creating an account or using Atlas, you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and any organisation you act for. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
Use Atlas = you agree to these terms. Simple as that.
§2Who can use Atlas
Atlas is currently invite-only. You may use it only if XG (or your administrator) has created an account for you, you’re authorised to act for your organisation, and you’re of legal age to enter a contract. Keep your password confidential — you’re responsible for activity under your account, and you must tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.
You’re in by invitation. Guard your login; what happens under it is on you.
§3What Atlas is — and what it isn’t
Atlas is an environmental-intelligence and decision-support tool. Its Strategic Briefs surface regulations, vendors and strategic moves to inform your thinking. They are not legal, financial, compliance, or professional advice, and they are not a substitute for qualified counsel or your own due diligence. AI-generated content can be incomplete or wrong; you are responsible for verifying anything you act on. Decisions you make remain yours.
Atlas helps you see the landscape and decide faster — it doesn’t replace your lawyer, advisor, or your own checking.
§4Using it fairly
You agree not to:
- break the law, infringe others’ rights, or upload anything you have no right to submit;
- scrape, bulk-export, resell, or reverse-engineer the platform, the matching engine, or the data;
- probe, attack, or circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls;
- misrepresent who you are, or use Atlas to harm the platform or other users.
Don’t hack it, steal from it, or abuse it. Use it for what it’s for.
§5Your content, our platform
You keep ownership of what you put in (the companies, context and edits you submit). You grant XG a licence to process that content to operate and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. XG owns the platform, the matching engine, the regulations and solutions databases, the brand, and the outputs’ underlying intelligence — you get a personal, non-transferable right to use them while these Terms are in force.
What you type stays yours. The engine, the data, and the XG brand stay ours — you’re licensed to use them, not to own them.
§6Data & privacy
How we handle personal data — what we collect, why, the legal basis, the Brain’s automated decisions, and your rights — is set out in the Privacy & Data Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
The privacy page is part of this deal — read it; it’s short and in plain words too.
§7Availability & changes to the service
Atlas is offered on an evolving basis and parts may be in preview. We aim for reliable service but don’t guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may add, change, or remove features. We’ll avoid surprising you with breaking changes where we reasonably can.
It’s a living product — mostly up, sometimes changing. We won’t yank the rug without reason.
§8Disclaimers & liability
Atlas is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on Atlas outputs. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid XG in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
We stand behind the tool, but we can’t promise it’s perfect or cover every downstream outcome — there’s a cap, set by law and the contract.
§9Suspension & ending the agreement
You can stop using Atlas anytime. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are breached, for security, or if required by law — and, where reasonable, we’ll tell you why. On termination, your right to use Atlas ends; the data provisions of the Privacy Policy continue to apply.
Either side can walk away. We’ll only cut you off for a real reason, and we’ll say what it was.
§10Changes to these Terms
If we materially change these Terms, we’ll notify you and update the date above before they take effect. Continuing to use Atlas after that means you accept the new version.
If the terms change in a way that matters, we’ll tell you first.
§11Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which XG Energy is established, and any dispute will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction — except where the law gives you a right to bring a claim, or protection, in your home country.
The agreement’s legal home is where XG Energy is based — but your local legal rights still stand.
